You're in for quite an adventure. I'm excited for you - I remember my first time in Japan, way back in high school...it's a completely different world for me now. Fortunately, you're coming after the hot and humid summer, and you'll make it to Hakone, which is absolutely amazing. I think a lot non-Japanese people have issues with the whole "onsen" thing the first time they try them, but they really are nice. I also noticed the Imperial Palace is on the list - I'm actually looking at the palace right now. The company I'm interning for is located right across the street, and my office is on the 8th floor. ha.
