One week until 1-year review.. still a giant dork.

Embarassing moment for the day: I'm pretty good friends with this secretary at work. Today, as she was leaving my office, she made a joke about what a pain in the ass I am to work for (totally kidding, OF COURSE). Without thinking, I YELL OUT into the hall: "Shut up, SNATCH!"

It took me a second to realize what I'd done. Oops. My boss is two doors down from me.. I'm hoping he didn't hear. To add insult to injury, my co-worker had brought his 9-year old son to work that day, and they were three doors down from me.... I am such an asshat...

What a dork!

Embarassing moment of the day: I walk into my boss's office today to deliver a file and as I'm reaching over to set it on his desk, I trip on a chair and go flying toward him, catching myself [[SPLAT]] flat on his desk. Thank God I didn't break anything. I hope he didn't think it was a come-on...

Krapper Snappers

I need an idea. Turns out that in exchange for the privilege of representing NV in this 50 U.S. Blogs site, I have to write something about my state. Uhh... don't people already know all about NV? You know, silver, mining, hookers, gambling, aliens?

I was thinking about writing a compilation of fun stuff to do in Vegas as recommended by the locals.. like a local's guide book. Other than that, I got nothin'. Any suggestions?

Scary hot

I assume we're all familiar with the term "ugly-hot?" (See, e.g, Joaquin Phoenix, Sandra Bernhard.. you get the idea.) And, of course, there's "geeky-hot," which describes guys like Beck, or the guys from Weezer, or Ed Norton...

WELL, today I discovered "scary-hot." I didn't even know there was such a thing until I saw the preview for the new movie Red Eye. Yes, yes, the movie looks dumb - but that's not what this post is about! It's about how Cillian Murphy, who incidentally also played the "scary-hot" Scarecrow in Batman Begins, gives me the "scary-hot" shivers! [[SHUDDER]] (That's the good kind!) Goodbye "teenage-heartthrob-hot" Jason Dohring, hello "scary-hot" Cillian Murphy!

While we're on the subject, any other ugly-hots, geeky-hots or scary-hots out there worth noticing??? I'm thinking Shannon had a thing for scary-hot Christian Bale in American Psycho. Too scary to be hot for me, but to each his own.

Ooh wait, I just thought of another: Julian McMahon as Victor Von Doom in the Fantastic Four! Mega-scary-hot!!!

Big brother is watching..

I probably shouldn't be blogging about this, b/c I'm sure Big Brother is reading this right this second.. but I feel I have to inform my faithful bloggees of the new policy around these here parts. So.. this lady got in trouble last week at work for spending all day on the internet. My boss sent out an email saying, basically, that he can see everything we read online, so no excessive internet use at work please. So even though my internet use is far from excessive, I'm still like, dang, bummer, I should probably cut back on checking the daily blogs, but then...

I see IT lady in the break room today and she busts out with, "So Claudia, you like Napolean Dynamite??" I say, "Yeah, HOW DID YOU KNOW??" B/c honestly, no one at work knows me well enough to know that.. especially not the IT lady! So she gets a split-second awkward facial expression then quickly comes back with, "Someone ratted you out!" I'm thinking... yeah, LIKE MY BLOG!! So I feel totally violated. So I'm not going to be able to check the blogs during the day anymore probably, unless it's on lunch. Even then, I'm not crazy about checking anything remotely personal b/c I know they're watching... and I don't need things like those 25 de Junio picturea floating around. In fact, I'm taking off all incriminating photos right now. Sorry kiddies... :-(

Who should play Wonder Woman

Apparently Joel Silver and Joss Whedon are working on a cast and script for a new Wonder Woman movie, due out in 2007. Rumors have been flying that it'll be Sandra Bullock, but, as far as I know, nothing has been decided. Other names that have come up have been Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Katie Holmes, Charisma Carpenter, Carmen Elektra and Rachael McAdams. Out of that group, I like Rachael McAdams, even though she's not quite tall enough to play an Amazon. My own nomineee for the role would probably be Ali Landry or maybe Charlize Theron

So I guess this is kind of a poll question, without an embedded poll. Who do you think should be the next Wonder Woman?

Chill weekend rundown

Friday: Boys had "bbq" night, so Kat, Shannon, Jen and me had girlz nite in, where we had tacos, drinks, and watched Mean Girls at Kat's new pad.

Saturday: Paid $300 to get my inside bumper replaced after it fell off.. went to Benihana for Bri's fifth and final birthday celebration... then Marie Calendar's for pie.. then Kat's housewarming. Things had died down by the time we showed, so we popped in a deliciously horrible move - Showgirls box set DVD, baby!

Sunday: Boring stuff only.. Cleaned house.. paid bills.. caught up on Tivo'd shows.

Not very exciting.. maybe a pictur will help spruce it up.

I must admit I thought this was hilarious..

This video clip is dedicated to Randi, who is seriously obsessed w/ Harry Potter. It spoils the Half Blood Prince, so don't watch it unless you don't care or you've already read it. So mean.. Mwah ha ha ha ha.

Honeymoon Ideas

We need to make some honeymoon plans right about now, since we'll be getting married in approx. 3.5 months. Got any suggestions? We need to leave on or about Nov 6th, and we prefer an "inactive" type of vacation. We thought maybe a cruise along the Panama Canal or a cruise around Greece, but those are a little expensive. Now we're thinking more along the lines of Puerto Rico. Any other ideas?

BOCL Pick of the Week

Thank you to Allison for this week's (PROBABLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK) Best of Craig's List pick-of-the-week. All I gotta say is that I didn't even know there was such a thing as "tribbing..." (ALSO PROBABLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVER!!

Happy 28th Birthday to my honey-lumpkins!!

Random..

So I'm trying to convince Brian to tell me which character dies in the new Harry Potter book (since I'll never read it), but he won't tell me! I say, "Fine, I'll just have to find out for myself." I pick up his copy of the book, pick a random place to open it, and start reading. Sure enough, it was p. 608, where Harry Potter realizes that ????? is dead. Dang, I'm good.

Top 10 reasons why ComicCon sucked this year

10. We got there just in time to miss Stan Lee's presentation/autograph session.

9. The Adult Swim presentation put me to sleep.

8. The exclusives I got (2 Catwomans and a Batman Begins figure) are selling on eBay for less than what I paid.

7. A bunch of geeky girls dressed up like whores, but they were all super flabby and pasty white!! (Ick, put it away!!)

6. Cuz I didn't get a picture with the one hot girl there dressed as Princess Leia in the gold bikini..

5. Stood in line for an hour to get Jason Dohring's autograph, only to be the first person in line turned away.. So close...

4. Shut down again by Jason Dohring's security after chasing him down the hall as he was attempting to exit. So close..

3. After stalking Jason Dohring, I didn't have enough time to get the My Little Pony ComicCon exclusive.

2. Turns out they lied about having an exclusive Napolean Dynamite Bobblehead doll for the convention.

1. John Heder (aka Napoleon Dynamite!!) was there signing autographs - the day AFTER we went!!

We are SO registering for these..

Ok, I promised you sex furniture, so here it is. This is a little something we like to call "The Liberator." (Probably not safe for work) How does it work? Well, here's a little demonstration. And another demo, just in case you want to take the advanced course.

Sea World Pics

Just picked these up from the one hour photo. It's our pics at Sea World.

Celebrities and car chases and sex furniture

Okay, so we're back from our trip. Here's what we did:

Wednesday we went kayaking in Coronado. The bay was beautiful, as were the 5 million dollar houses sitting on it. After kayaking, we just had to get some beach action, so David, Shannon, Brian and I walked along a nearby beach.

Wednesday night we went to Benihana for an early birthday celebration for Brian. Here's us & Neil:

Thursday Brian and I went to Sea World to get physiclly abused by sea animals. Here's us soaking wet:

Friday David, Brian, Yasmien, and my nephews Jesse and Tony went to Comic Con. It was pretty darn disappointing. I'll elaborate later. For now, here's a pic of all of us just before going in:

And one more of the kids and me inside:

Friday night Brian and I attempted to drop the kids off at home in Ontario. All was fine until we got held up on the freeway by a police chase. Apparently some idiot had stolen a semi truck and was driving it at about 10 mph down the I-15 South surrounded by three helicopters and about twenty police... Not sure what his plan was . Anyway, we travelled behind the chase at about 5 mph for about two hours before finally saying screw it and driving back to Ontario to spend the night. Not sure what happened to the dumbass truck thief.

Saturday we went to the beach and got sun burnt.

We then went to dinner at a mediocre restaurant called King's Fish House.

Sunday we went to Ikea. Shannon and David had never been, so it was fun to see it again for the first time through their eyes. I bought this sculpture (remind you of anyone?) and this other weird lighted plastic sculpture thingy for my office. We also stopped off to see the grandparents in Hinkley before driving home. That's about it!

Here are more pics of our San Diego trip, minus Sea World. My digital camera battery died and I had to get a disposable, so I'll 1-hour photo those soon.

And here are more pics of Comic Con as well.

I'd love to elaborate on the celebrities and sex furniture as promised, but I'm out of time for now. I'll get into all of that next time.

Flippin' idiot cat!

Just got back from San Diego and found that Enid had crapped and pissed all over our bed!! Why are cats crazy???

San Diego here I come..

We're leaving today right after work for San Diego and I am SO EXCITED. (We'll be back Sunday, July 17th.) Here's our plan: We're going to Sea World Thursday, and then Comic Con on Friday (more on that in a sec), and then to the beach Saturday. We're staying w/ Neil and will also see Yasmien while we're down there. Since we're leaving a day earlier than planned, I'm taking suggestions for fun activities in San Diego. Any ideas?

I'm also super-excited for the Comic Con toys, such as the early release Napoleon Dynamite Bobblehead doll and the new My Little Pony exclusive from Hasbro. I'd be glad to pick up something for you if you know of something that you want (as long as you pay me back, of course). Just let me know.

I'm also looking forward to meeting Stan Lee as well as the cast of Veronica Mars. Eat your heart out Logan Eckolls!! You're my 23-year-old teen dream!

Woe is me..

So.... I started another blog. Originally, I wanted to just add a calendar to this one with quick little events chronicling each time someone harassed me about my height in public, but I couldn't find a good web calendar to do it quickly and easily. So I just made a new blog. It's going to be a diary of the harassment that I endure on a daily basis. Maybe this will help explain why I'm such an angry person.. Anyway, here's the link:

More on Lindsay.. I just can't resist

Here's a link to Lindsay Lohan's Blog. Highlights include Lindsay's Extreme Diet Chamber and Lindsay's Boob Song. Funny stuff!!

Girlz nite out

Friday night the boyz had planned to have another one of their little "barbecues," so Kat and Shannon and I decided to have another girlz nite out. We had a nice dinner at Paymon's Mediterranean Cafe. That place rocks. The food is excellent.

Afterword we moseyed on over to the Hookah Lounge next door to have drinks and smoke the hookah. For those who haven't done it, you should give it a try. It's pretty interesting. This is coming from someone who has never smoked cigarettes and thinks smoking is generally nasty. That said, the hooka rocks. It's a mediteranean tradition.. used in business and social settings. Men can smoke the hooka with other men, and women with women, but apparently, if your'e married, you can't do it with anyone of the opposite sex other than your spouse. The web site can tell you more than I can about the tradition and the history. All I know is it's interesting and fun. This time we got peach.

Here are some snapshots of us and the Hooka: Here's Kat sucking the hooka.... and me about to suck the hooka w/ my eyes closed... and Shannon blowing out hooka smoke like Terry Schiavo. Awe, that's messed up! Mimicking the sick/dead ain't right Shannon! That's ok.. God punished her later by making her choke on her smoke. (Sorry Shannon, I just couldn't resist!) All in all a nice little night.

Saturday I slept for like 15 hours. It's the damn kitty magic, I'm telling you..

Bombastic, Semi-fantastic

Just got back from seeing the Fantastic Four premiere. It was dumb.. cheesy.. juvenile. Comparable to Batman and Robin, the one w/ Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone. Final grade according to me: C.

What all the fuss is about

This is the video for my current favorite Tori Amos song. Your choice of format: Quicktime, RealPlayer, or Windows Media Hi Speed.

GASP..CHOKE..CATCH BREATHE..

Nice... Nevadans give up their rights to sue docs for their malpractice and this is how the insurance companies respond. It just goes to show.. insurance companies are terrorists, docs are hostages and citizens are the targets the insurance companies are trying to coerce into submission.

What Las Vegas needs..

On the radio this morning they were talking about things that would be cool to have in Las Vegas. It got me thinking.. here's a short list of my suggestions:

1. A Chick-fil-A - It's got the best chicken nuggets EVER.
2. A 24-hour dessert diner - Tori Amos says breakfast served every hour could save the world.. I say cheesecake every hour could do it too.
3. A Cracker Barrel - Too bad the Christian owners don't want anything to do with our little modern-day Sodom/Gomorrah.
4. The return of Wet n' Wild - So hot without it..
5. Clearly marked bike lanes everywhere.. maybe some bike stop lights too.
6. A good artsy-fartsy movie theater.
7. A dance music radio station
8. A tall girl clothes store, like this.

Got any other ideas?

I know I shouldn't care, but..

Am I the only one shocked that Kelly Monaco won on Dancing with the Stars?? Can't believe I fell into that trap... Here's some NOT SAFE FOR WORK porno shots of Kelly Monaco too, by the way. I guess she posed for Playboy a few years back. That makes the win EVEN MORE shocking!

Why you should always doublecheck before replying all

I am so embarrassed right now. So, Allison emails me her flight info for the weekend of my wedding (11/05/05). Gmail doesn't automatically show you everyone who the message has been sent to, so you don't know unless you click a link to find out. So I just figured it was her and Kelly (her girlfriend who is coming with her) on the email.

So I see they're leaving early Sunday, and "reply all." I basically said, "Why you leaving so early - oh well, nevermind, I'll probably be too tired to hang out after boning my new husband all night long anyway." I hit send and realize... she cc'd her parents too! Holy crap!! I'm retarded!!!!! This goes out to Linda and Ken - I'm not a dirty whore! Please forgive!!

Hot time, summer in the city

Damn this weekend was exhausting. Saturday was the big Las Vegas Centennial Concert, with Weezer and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was a total clusterfcuk, from start to finish.

Here are some photos I took. The bands were good. RHCP was probably better than Weezer, but I enjoyed Weezer more. I probably would have enjoyed RHCP more if it wasn't so damn hot. By the halfway point, I was just wishing the whole thing would end. Too hot and too many people. I did have a good time though overall.

Funniest movie I've seen in a while..

is Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Cracked me up!

Sweet..

I am so gonna get me one of these in two weeks when we go to Comic Con. It's gonna be sweet..
