How to tell if you're an asshole...

If you go to your friends' wedding and do nothing but complain, criticize and exude anger and hostility, then you're probably an asshole. Next time do everyone a big favor and stay home.

It's a simple concept: don't go to a wedding if you're not sincere about celebrating w/ the people paying for your food.

I think it's a universally applicable rule.

wow, there's an understory here that is probably good gossip... Anyway, yes, that is a good rule!
another good rule, is don't put people down so that you can feel good because you put someone down.

If I go to a wedding and make fun of a kid playing a kazoo during a romantic moment does that make me an asshole?

Amen.

Unless you're married to someone that sincerely wants to be there. Then suck it up.

Hk - only if you laugh out loud and it seems like you're laughing at the poor guy humiliating himself in public in honor of his new wife.

What if you're laughing at the chick singing "I love technology" while a poor guy is humiliating himself in public in honor of his new (as opposed to his old) wife.

Hk - then the person singing I love technology is probably the asshole. :-) (awe, just kidding honey!!)

You guys are too funny. I just heard some stuff I didn't like about people being negative-nellies at my wedding and had to vent. I'm done now though.
