I Heart Wasting Money

Here are my current Netflix, and the dates they were originally shipped:

Sideways - 08/23/05
I Heart Huckabees - 07/13/05

Here's the total cost of having these movies for nearly 11 months: $177.49.

So yeah, I think it's time to cancel my Netflix.

and sideways was a horrible movie....but don't feel bad, Matt got put in collections two years ago from Hollywood video for Terminator 2 and Star Trek the next generation....

They never mention those fees in their advertisement.

Netflix doesn't have late fees or anything. That total is the monthly subscription fee for the last eleven months that it's taken me to watch these two dumb movies. So I guess you could say I was paying for the ABILITY to watch any other two movie I wanted. I just never got passed these.

Sideways was okay. It was a bit tedious, and I found the main character vile, and the end was super-lame, but for some reason, it drew me in. I kept wanting to find out what happened next.

Huckabess was bizarro. I have to give it props for originality, but I couldn't sit through it again.

From a pure entertainment standpoint, it wasn't so good. Philisophically, it was interesting. But the pacing was too slow and the dialogue was too fast. Brian said it seemed like someone's film school project, and I have to agree.

I did the same thing, and THEY REFUNDED US ALL THE MONTHS WE DIDN'T USE IT.

Seriously, I got a $100 refund.

Without even asking.

Netflix rocks.

How did it get brought up?

The operator just asked why I was cancelling, and I told him we had the same three movies for six months. He cancelled and refunded.

I love him. I wouldn't even have asked.

I wonder if Netflix response had anything to do with the class action law suit against them? We cancelled a couple of years ago for the same reason and did not receive a refund. But, we do keep getting emails for free month as we were included in the class action settlement. Now we have a Blockbuster movie pass, and it rules. When the husband was in his Smallville phase, he would check out episodes, watch them and return them for different ones on the same day.

Also, I like Sideway. Paul Giamatti getting all worked up over Merlot was awesome.

How is the blockbuster movie pass different than Netflix?

After watching Sideways, I felt a little white trash for liking Merlot.

Blockbuster pass is pretty much the same only you use it in the store and don't have to wait for the mail. One flat rate and after you're done with a movie you go into the store and trade it for another.

I know what you mean about the Merlot, I've started drinking Pinot Noir.
